Doug helped coach the 2003 Hot Wasabi Dragon Boat team to a 2nd
Place Victory at this years Rose Festival Dragon Boat races.
Doug has been coming to Bill Pec's since October 2000 and
currently enjoys the personal attention and training that you can't find at
other non-exclusive health clubs.
Doug's Wasabi Team is one of the few Dragon Boat teams that
allows beginner to intermediate members onto the team without tryouts or
time trials. Sometimes the team is Co-ed or all female. This years team was
all female.
Hot Wasabi is also one of the few teams to travel to
international events, China and Italy to name a few.
Update as of June 23, 2004 - Doug's
team, Wasabi Mixed, won a third place medal in the competitive C division at
the Alcan Dragon Boat Festival in Vancouver, B.C. last weekend. They
finished 19th out of 174 teams - pretty good for a team which is comprised
primarily of first-year paddlers.
